All applications must be submitted online through this website or mailed directly to the National NHA Office in San Diego, CA for receipt no later than 31 January Applications which bypass the National Office, will not be considered.
The NHA Scholarship Fund's Vice President of Scholarships will review all applications for completeness, sort the applications into packages per Regional designations and forward the packages to Regional NHA Selection Committees. All applications will be inventoried, but only qualified candidates' applications will be forwarded to the NHA Regional Committees.
The Regional Scholarship Chairperson should form a committee of six active duty/retired personnel to select a 'most deserving' nominee and rank runner-up candidates. Using a numeric ranking system, each member should score the applicants. Total scores will determine the winner. The Regional Chairperson will cast a tie-breaking vote if necessary.
The selection process will be identical for the Graduate Scholarship, any additional scholarships (as they become available), and will be selected by the National Scholarship Selection Committee.
The Regional Scholarship Chairperson will send a record of the final rankings of the candidates to the NHA National Office no later than 31 March.
The Vice President of Scholarships will compile all Regional results and form a National Scholarship Selection Committee. Regional runner-ups will compete for any additional "corporate sponsored" awards (as available). Said corporate sponsored awards and the Graduate award will be determined by the NHA National Scholarship Committee, as applicable.
Final determination and notification of all winners will be completed by the National Scholarship Selection Committee. Winners will be notified no later than 15 May.
